BIOGRAPHY – Dawn D. Maychszak, LMT, MMP, NCTM
Dawn Maychszak
From the time Dawn was a small child, she knew that she belonged somewhere in medical services, either as a nurse or a veterinarian. She did not pursue the gut instinct early on, and found herself “misplaced” in office work. Although she was very good at what she did, she felt very little satisfaction. Dawn prayed for 5 years each night before bed, and knew upon waking one morning, without a doubt, that she was a massage therapist!

Dawn learned first hand the positive effects of massage therapy on the body. Having had many physical issues from being a tossed horsewoman as well as having been involved in numerous other types of accidents, she experienced daily pain and immobility. With massage therapy, she is able to maintain a very active life and able to perform the physically demanding profession of massage therapy.

Although she has received training in and provides services in many various types of massage modalities including relaxation, she is passionate about recovery, rehabilitation and basically a better quality of life for those she treats. As a certified medical massage practitioner, she provides services to patients and clients who exhibit a wide array of physical limitations, pain, conditions, discomfort, and postural misalignment.

As well as being a certified medical massage practitioner, Dawn is also certified in Arthrossage, which encompasses specialized techniques tailored to ease the discomfort and degeneration of persons suffering from rheumatoid (RA) and osteo-arthritis (DJD). With a health promoting lifestyle, encouraged and assisted by massage therapy, improvement and a better quality of life can be enjoyed by those with arthritis.

If you have any questions as to whether or not your specific condition could be aided through massage therapy, please contact me and I will be happy to discuss possible treatment with you!

Note that Dawn is an Illinois licensed, nationally certified massage therapist, and is a member of ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals).
